Sleep Evaluation Services
Don't Ignore a Snore... It could be your "wake-up call" to a more serious medical condition.
If you're not getting a good night's sleep, you are not alone. More than 100 million Americans regularly fail to get a good night's sleep, yet sleep is critical to maintaining good mental and physical health every day. Sleep disorders affect people of every age, including children.
Frequent sleep problems have been reported by nearly 7 out of 10 Americans in recent studies conducted by the National Sleep Foundation
According to the Institute of Medicine recent report - Sleep Disorders and Sleep Deprivation: An Unmet Public Health Problem - "it is estimated that 50 to 70 million Americans chronically suffer from a disorder of sleep and wakefulness, hindering daily functioning and adversely affecting their health and longevity. The cumulative effects of sleep loss and sleep disorders represent an under-recognized public health problem and have been associated with a wide range of health consequences including an increased risk of hypertension, diabetes, obesity, depression, heart attack, and stroke. Almost 20 percent of all serious car crash injuries in the general population are associated with driver sleepiness." (The full text of this report is available here)
There are more than 80 known sleep disorders. Each can lead to a loss of energy, lower productivity, mental problems and an increase in accidents while driving or on-the-job. Some sleep disorders can even indicate more serious cardiovascular or respiratory problems. The time to get help is now.
Beaumont Sleep Evaluation Services is designed to help people who have trouble getting enough quality sleep or who have trouble staying awake during the day.
